How to maintain the conveyor belt

Time:2025-08-17
During storage, the temperature inside the warehouse should be maintained between -15 ℃ and+40 ℃, and the relative humidity should be maintained between 50-80%.
During storage, the conveyor belt must be placed in rolls and not folded. During the storage period, it should be flipped once every quarter.
The running speed of the conveyor belt should not exceed 5.0 meters per second. When transporting materials with large block size and high wear, and using fixed plow type unloading devices, low speed should be used as much as possible. Exceeding the specified speed will affect the service life of the tape.

How to maintain the conveyor belt
During transportation and storage, the conveyor belt should be kept clean, avoiding direct sunlight, rain and snow immersion, and avoiding contact with substances that affect the quality of rubber such as acids, alkalis, oils, and organic solvents. It should also be kept at a distance of 1 meter from the heating device.

The relationship between the diameter of the transmission drum of the conveyor and the fabric layer of the conveyor belt, the matching of the transmission drum changing direction drum, and the requirements for the groove angle of the idler should be reasonably selected according to the design regulations of the conveyor.

To reduce the impact and wear of materials on the tape, the feeding direction should be in line with the running direction of the tape; The drop of materials falling onto the tape should be minimized as much as possible; The feeding port should avoid being directly above the drum or roller; The receiving section of the tape should shorten the distance between the rollers and take buffering measures. To prevent scratching of the tape, the contact parts between the material blocking device, scraper cleaning device, and unloading device and the tape should be made of rubber sheets with suitable hardness, and tape heads with cloth layers should not be used.

During the use of the conveyor belt, the following precautions should be taken:
A. Avoid the roller being covered by material, which may cause ineffective rotation, and prevent material leakage from getting stuck between the drum and the tape. Pay attention to lubrication of the moving parts, but do not oil the conveyor belt.
B. Strive to avoid starting with load.
C. If the tape deviates, timely measures should be taken to correct it.
D. Local damage to the tape should be repaired promptly to prevent it from expanding.
E. Avoid the tape being obstructed by racks, pillars, or block materials to prevent breakage and tearing.
